About Me

I am a certified teacher and have been tutoring for about 15 years. I have lots of experience with students of all different ages, situations, math courses, and even teaching methods. I also do home instruction, which I've done for about 12 years, and teach at a local university, where I've been for 8 years. I love what I do and love getting to help students!

Tutoring Style

I thoroughly enjoy getting to know a student and then tailoring my teaching to their specific needs. I have lots of ways of presenting material and am prepared to do whatever I can to help. I also like to have a little fun with math, since it really is cool and hopefully help students see it isn't so scary.

Success Story

I had a student who came from another country where he was made fun of by his teacher for asking questions! I had to first encourage this student that I would never make fun of him and he could ask as many questions as he wanted. His math was weak because of his background, but he went on to succeed and ultimately graduated from the university with his degree. I was so proud of him and he was so thankful to learn that it's okay to ask questions and that in doing so, he was able to succeed.

Hobbies & Interests

Music is another passion of mine. I play the piano and harp and love listening to music in general. I love to be outdoors whenever I can be. I have two bunnies as pets and even bring them when we travel, if we can!
